Position Overview

We are looking for a skilled journeyman diesel mechanic with 5+ years of experience performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of light and medium‑duty trucks and heavy equipment. The Diesel Mechanic will service the North Puget Sound area of our fleet and work year‑round, allowing for schedule flexibility and overtime as required. Key Responsibilities

Maintain and repair a diverse fleet of light and medium‑duty trucks and heavy equipment, including pavers, backhoes, rollers, excavators and more. Perform general and special maintenance, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic diagnosis and repair on trucks and equipment both in the shop and in the field. Complete routine inspections on trucks and equipment as necessary. Keep accurate records in the shop maintenance system (RTA) of all repairs. Assist with or complete the fabrication of parts and/or tools necessary for specific tasks. Order and organize parts, maintain inventory and coordinate with the Shop Foreman to ensure all needed parts/supplies are documented, ordered and received. Remain at shop on designated late nights until all crews have returned. Comply with and follow all safety regulations and company policies. Perform other duties as required. Qualifications

5+ years of diesel mechanic journeyman experience. Skill maintaining, diagnosing and repairing trucks and heavy equipment. Experience with manual transmission diagnoses and service. Hydraulic, air, and electric brake troubleshooting and repair; brake certification. Knowledge of regulations; DOT certification and history of performing DOT inspections. Experience with computerized diagnostic equipment. Own set of tools up to 2" sockets and wrenches, " & " drives. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record; CDL Class A preferred. Schedule flexibility to meet seasonal peak and other business demands. Compensation & Benefits

$3,000 hiring bonus and $1,000 annual tool reimbursement. Competitive pay ranging from $34.50 to $44.00 per hour, overtime, and comprehensive benefits. 10‑hour shifts Monday through Friday with additional Saturday work as needed; occasional overtime may be required. Additional Information

Drug and alcohol screening and criminal background check required. This position is designated as safety‑sensitive and is subject to FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse requirements for new CDL drivers.
