Facilities Management employs approximately 325 personnel across a wide range of technical roles, including electricians and plumbers.

Role on the Team Install, modify, test, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain medium and high voltage electrical systems and associated equipment, including transformers, cables, switches, circuit breakers, mechanical and electronic recording instruments, mechanical and electronic control systems, and other substation equipment. Install, modify, connect, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair overhead and underground electrical distribution lines. Perform service on underground lines, substations, transformers, insulators, capacitor equipment, lightning arresters, switches, fuses, ground connectors, and similar equipment. Prepare estimates, and plan and manage own projects within allotted budgets. Also plan the sequence of work and determine the nature of maintenance or repair needed. Determine the effects of alterations on the total system and ensure proper operation of lines and equipment. Responsible for providing technical assistance to lower grade workers.

Required Qualifications

Journeyman Electrician.

Minimum of five years’ experience performing skilled high voltage work.

Knowledge of technical practices to plan, layout, and complete maintenance or repair required for high voltage equipment and lines.

Knowledge of high voltage electrical equipment and distribution lines such as transformers, switches, circuit breakers, recording instruments, control systems, series and parallel, circuits, line loading, line losses.

Knowledge of electrical and electronic theory and instruments used in shop and trade practices.

Knowledge of safety regulations, procedures, and practices and ability to operate safely.

Skill in using and maintaining electrical tools and test equipment such as oscilloscopes, phase sticks and rotation meters, digital test equipment, fault finding equipment, amp meters, voltmeters, meggers, graphic recorders, hot sticks, and insulated hoods/covers and tools.

Ability to use energy isolation procedures and special precautionary techniques (lockout/tagouts, barricades, warning signs, etc.).

Knowledge and experience to maintain and use personal protective equipment, insulating and shielding materials, insulated tools, grounding devices, and test instruments.

Valid California driver license and ability to participate in the DMV Employee Pull Notice program.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certified.

Preferred: Ability to use electrical drawings, blueprints, circuit diagrams, and electronic schematics. Knowledge of the National Electrical Safety Code and of types and sizes of wires/cables, conduits, transformers, and other electrical equipment and circuit elements, and skill to integrate them into electrical systems and equipment to insure proper operation.

Location & Compensation Irvine, CA | $85,600.00 – $107,000.00 an annual salary.
