From our U.S. headquarters and technical center in St. Charles, IL, we develop and manufacture innovative solutions for body electronics, passive entry/passive start (PEPS), power closure systems (liftgates, sliding doors, cinching latches), and DC/DC converters for electrified vehicles.
Your Role As a System Requirements Engineer, you will be the central interface between automotive OEM customers (GM, Ford, Stellantis, BMW, etc.), product management, hardware/software teams, and functional safety/cybersecurity experts. You will own the creation, traceability, and lifecycle management of customer and system requirements for next‑generation vehicle access and power distribution products.
Key Responsibilities
Hybrid work 2‑3 days on‑site (weekly average)
Elicit, analyze, and document stakeholder and system requirements from customer specifications (GMW3172, Ford EMC, Stellantis PF/CS specs, etc.) and industry standards
Manage requirements in JIRA, ensuring full bidirectional traceability (stakeholder ↔ system ↔ subsystem ↔ test)
Lead requirements reviews with OEM customers and internal cross‑functional teams
Perform requirements decomposition and allocation to hardware, software, mechanical, and other disciplines
Drive change management, gap analysis, and impact analysis for requirement changes
Support FuSa (ISO 26262) and Cybersecurity (ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155/R156) concept development with traceable safety and security requirements
Ensure requirement testability and support verification & validation planning
Contribute to ASPICE SYS.1–SYS.5 processes and customer audits
Qualifications Required:
Bachelor’s (or Higher) degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field
3+ years’ automotive requirements engineering experience (OEM or Tier‑1)
Hands‑on experience with Requirements Management Tools (JIRA, DOORS Next, Polarion, etc.)
Knowledge of ISO 26262 (Functional Safety) and ISO/SAE 21434 (Cybersecurity)
Strong Knowledge of ASPICE.
Experience with vehicle body electronics, power closure systems, immobilizers, DC/DC converters, or similar
Legal authorization to work in the United States (Visa sponsorship IS NOT available for this position)
Additional Preferred Qualifications
IREB CPRE Foundation or Advanced certification
Experience with SysML and model‑based systems engineering (MBSE)
Knowledge of automotive networks (CAN‑FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet)
Familiarity with North American OEM customer specification portals and processes
