Salary Base pay range: $25.00/yr – $30.00/yr.

Summary Responsible for inspecting, servicing, and maintaining a range of heavy‑duty construction equipment. As a mechanic, you will travel with the crew to job sites, inspect engines and equipment, complete service repairs as needed, and provide routine maintenance to the construction fleet.

Responsibilities

Travel with the crew to job sites.

Inspect trucks, pavers, loaders, rollers, crack seal machines, skid‐steers, and other equipment for proper performance.

Diagnose faults using computerized testing equipment.

Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner.

Adjust equipment and replace faulty parts.

Repair damaged equipment parts.

Clean, lubricate, and conduct routine services on heavy‑duty vehicles.

Clean and service all attachments.

Perform major repair work when necessary.

Report damaged or faulty equipment to management.

Keep equipment available for use by completing preventive maintenance schedules, installing component and part upgrades, and completing winterization procedures.

Provide documentation of all maintenance and repairs.

Coordinate equipment repairs requested by superintendent and foreperson.

Perform quarterly inspections on trucks and equipment.

Maintain an acceptable Nevada Class A and/or Class C driver’s license (clean DMV record).

Display safety consciousness, strong work ethic, exceptional attitude, and attendance traits.

Work drug and alcohol free at all times, enforcing the company’s drug and alcohol policy.

Demonstrate teamwork on an ongoing basis.

Have good communication skills.

Requirements

Proper certification as a heavy equipment mechanic.

Proven work experience as a diesel and/or heavy equipment mechanic.

Ability to work within a fast‑paced environment as an integral member of a dynamic team.

Ability to lift heavy machinery.

Assemble or fabricate parts at or within arm’s length.

Operate machines, motor vehicles, hand tools, and job‑specific equipment and tools.

Perform tasks such as walking, lifting, reaching, stooping, standing, grasping, balancing, climbing, kneeling, and crouching.

Work in various inside and outside environments subject to weather changes, noise, vibrations, job hazards, and atmospheric conditions.

Welding is a plus.

Must have a valid driver’s license.

Ability to work after‑hours if required.

Be available to work weekends and out of town.
