Duties & Responsibilities
Lay out, assemble, install, or maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, or related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, or industrial production or processing systems.
Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use, and lay out the sequence of tasks.
Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fiberglass pipes, valves and fittings. Join pipe sections, related equipment and secure them in position.
Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks.
Drill and punch holes in metal for screws, bolts, and rivets.
Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts using hand tools and various power tools.
Willing to cross‑train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.
Accountabilities and Performance Measures
Produce high quality of work with zero non‑conformances.
Meet project deadlines as assigned.
Work in a safe manner following Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Maintain an excellent attendance & punctuality record.
Education, Skills & Experience Required
Minimum of 0‑1 years industrial experience is preferred.
Must be able to work with various hand tools and operate an industrial powered forklift truck.
Demonstrated proficiency reading and interpreting work orders and drawings.
Able to work independently or as a team player.
Able to take direction and communicate with others.
Have excellent time‑management skills, organized and detail oriented.
Employ a friendly, outgoing personality, respectful of co‑workers and ability to work with individuals to carry out goals of the organization.
Physical Demands Perform work standing up in work cell for 8‑10 hours per day and up to 6 days a week. Frequently required to stand, walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must frequently lift and/or move material during the course of performing his/her job. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
