Job Description
The Garver Geospatial Solutions Team is looking for a GIS Analyst to join our Fayetteville, Arkansas based team. This role will support the team and existing clients to provide a wide variety of GIS and mapping services. This is not a remote job listing.
Key Responsibilities
Creating maps and performing a wide range of geospatial analysis in support of Garver’s other business lines’ GIS needs using ESRI software.
Adhering to established cartographic standards and Quality Assurance / Quality Control processes.
Processing large amounts of data in Excel for geocoding and analysis in ArcGIS; georeferencing files.
Working with LiDAR and other 3D collections and creating derivative products.
Deploying ArcGIS Solutions and digitizing data based on industry standards and client’s requirements.
Communicating and collaborating with supervisors, project managers, subject matter experts, and other GIS colleagues throughout the project delivery process.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Geographic Information Science, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Geography, Engineering, or a closely related field. In lieu of a GIS degree, references can be provided.
Five (5) or more years of practical geospatial experience or ten (10) years or more experience without a bachelor’s degree.
Proficiency in using ArcGIS Pro and Spatial Analyst extension.
Proficiency in using the ArcGIS Online Platform.
Ability to create maps, geodatabases, and other GIS deliverables on short notice.
Strong aptitude for using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills for both geospatial and non-geospatial projects.
Ability to problem‑solve complex geospatial problems with attention to detail and effective time management.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Preferred Skills
Established experience with automation of common processes using tools such as ArcGIS ModelBuilder, Python scripting, Arcade, Jupyter Notebooks, or other programming/scripting languages.
Experience with Global Mapper.
