Engineering Supervisor, VIS Ford Motor Company is seeking an experienced Engineering Supervisor to lead a talented team of manufacturing engineers in the Final Assembly Tooling area. The successful candidate will develop tooling solutions to support tier‑1 suppliers and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

Manage tier‑1 tooling supplier compliance to GVOSS across design and build.

Co‑lead tooling buyoffs with M&E team and Tier‑1 suppliers.

Maintain supplier relations and expectations throughout project award and execution with Ford.

Facilitate improvement initiatives between Ford and Tier‑1 supplier partnerships.

Drive standardization for Final Assembly Tooling.

Ensure the “Lessons Learned” loop from implementation back to core is realized with the tooling supplier base.

Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to a team of manufacturing engineers, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning.

Minimum Qualifications

B.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical field; foreign equivalency acceptable.

5+ years of experience in Manufacturing Engineering.

2+ years in a manufacturing leadership capacity.

Preferred Qualifications

Supplier relationship management experience.

Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Experience leading, mentoring, and developing engineering teams.

Proficiency with Virtual Manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Team Center, Vis mock‑up).

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to travel to the supplier base within the greater Detroit area.

Vehicle development process knowledge.

Proficiency with GVOSS.

Experience leading diverse teams.

Automotive manufacturing and launch process knowledge.

Leading capital projects.
