Job Description A Pipe Fitter General Foreman will manage multiple pipe crews as they assemble, layout, install, and maintain pipe systems in all phases of industrial new construction.

Position Summary The role is to manage multiple pipe crews in all phases of industrial new construction, overseeing installation and maintenance of pipe systems.

Qualification Highlights

5+ years working as an Industrial Pipefitter.

3+ years of supervisory experience.

Proficient in managing crew, time and costs.

Good leadership and communication skills.

Experience on a new construction project.

Must be able to pass the New Mexico State Journeyman License.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work, locations, quantities, and sizes of materials required.

Identify all tools required for tasks.

Identify safety risks and precautions required to eliminate those risks.

Illustrate in-depth knowledge of all pipe fitting processes.

Plan operations tactically for scheduling workloads in crews, efficiently utilizing assets and resources to minimize cost.

Manage crews regarding processes, scheduling, costs, employee relations issues, and employment needs.

Qualifications Required Qualifications

Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance history experience.

Ability to read prints, construction drawings, technical manuals, and manufacturers instructions.

Expert knowledge of pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler components for new construction plant.

Organization and time management.

Good problem-solving abilities.

Good aptitude and manual dexterity.

Ability to lead others and provide detailed instructions.

Good reading comprehension.

Team player.

Independent worker with minimal supervision.

Good communication skills with co-workers and supervisors.

Commitment to Zachry values and safety rules and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Zachry ROF’ed employee.

Former Zachry employee.

Basic computer efficiency.

Formal/technical education.

Reports To Position This position will be responsible for multiple crews led by foremen, each crew may range from 5-15 employees. Foreman of the crews will answer directly to this position.

Physical Requirements

Standing, walking, bending, squatting, sitting and lifting for large amounts of time.

Talk and hear to communicate.

Use arms and hands to signal, grab, hold, turn, push, and pull objects, materials, controls and tools.

May be required to pick up, lift, carry and move up to 50 lbs.

Work at heights, climb ladders and stairways, and may occasionally work off platforms/scaffolding using appropriate fall protection.

Must be able to work in all weather conditions while wearing appropriate PPE.

Required PPE includes hard hat, safety glasses or goggles, ear plugs, masks or respirators, hi-vis safety vests, leather gloves and steel-toed work boots.
