Site Engineer II
Digital Realty is seeking a Site Engineer II to join our Data Center Operations team. The role reports directly to the Manager of Engineering Operations and covers one or more data center properties.
Responsibilities
Contribute to daily site operations, including creation and modification of operating procedures.
Generate and update change‑management tickets.
Produce timely incident reports and conduct site maintenance & inspections.
Support construction activity and installation projects.
Execute site‑specific change‑management processes, creating Method of Procedures for low‑risk tasks and overseeing their implementation.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems and respond to unplanned events autonomously.
Complete rounds/inspections, detect anomalies, and improve SOPs for specific equipment.
Maintain and use CMMS for work orders, incident reports, and asset tracking.
Participate in accreditation initiatives such as SSAE 16, SOC 2, ISO 27001, etc.
Attend DLR Critical Awareness Training.
Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in mission‑critical facilities operations or engineering.
Hands‑on electrical or mechanical skill with competence in the non‑expertise area.
Strong knowledge of UPS systems, HVAC architectures, and equipment redundancy (N+1, 2N, ATS/STS).
Proficiency with CMMS, DCIM, power metering, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with Project, Visio or AutoCAD.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills.
Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Physical ability: lift up to 50 lbs, bend, stoop, and stretch; climb ladders up to 16 ft; work under a raised data‑center floor.
