Transforming the Future with Convergence of Simulation and Data Accountant As a key member of the Accounting team, the analyst will be responsible for preparing journal entries, reviewing monthly financial information, and reporting results. The analyst will also be responsible for ensuring adequate internal controls, including end user computer applications controls, are designed and effectively implemented. The analyst will also assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts and comparisons to actual results.
Responsibilities
Preparation of journal entries
Compare monthly budgets and forecasts with actual results
Understanding of design and operation of internal controls
Review monthly financial information to ensure reasonability
Review and summarize capital requests, including assessing the overall business case of capital purchases
Analyze opportunities and build models to support business decisions
Plan, coordinate and execute various ad hoc queries and reports used by all management levels in development of key strategy and operational decision making
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration
Highly competent in the use of the MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio)
Experience with data analysis tools is an asset
Understanding of internal control concepts
Self-confidence, critical thinking, ability to influence, ability to work independently and willingness to work extended hours (if necessary)
High level of time management and organizational skills
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
CPA or equivalent qualification preferred
