This position requires you to be working in office, 3 days per week, from our Bala Cynwyd, PA office.
Position Summary The Merchandising Business Analyst plays a key role in driving data‑informed decisions that optimize product assortment, pricing, promotions, and inventory strategies. This position combines analytical expertise with strong business acumen to identify trends, measure performance, and provide actionable insights that enhance sales, margin, and customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze sales, inventory, and margin data to identify trends, opportunities, and risks across product categories.
Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that track merchandising KPIs (e.g., sell‑through rates, stock turns, markdown performance).
Partner with merchandising, operations, and marketing teams to support product assortment planning and promotional strategies.
Perform SKU‑level and category‑level analysis to recommend pricing and assortment actions that optimize profitability.
Monitor competitor pricing, assortment, and promotional activity to inform strategic decisions.
Collaborate with data engineering and BI teams to improve data quality, reporting automation, and analytics processes.
Present analytical findings and recommendations to cross‑functional stakeholders and senior leadership.
Education and Experience
3-5 years of experience required
Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Statistics, and/or Data Analytics
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem‑solving skills
Ability to synthesize complex datasets into clear, actionable insights
High proficiency in Excel, with strong data manipulation and modeling capabilities
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate technical analyses for non‑technical audiences
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to work cross‑functionally and build relationships across teams
Highly organized with strong prioritization skills in a fast‑paced environment
Strong business acumen and critical‑thinking abilities
Effective data storytelling and visualization skills
