Job Description The Omni Nashville Hotel is excited to offer competitive wages, benefits, growth opportunities, paid time off, and hotel stay discounts. You will promote the safety and tranquility of hotel guests and associates by maintaining the hotel’s safety policies and procedures. You must hold a Tennessee Unarmed Security Guard license, complete Dallas’s Law training, and obtain CPR/AED and first aid certification upon hire.
Responsibilities
Promote the safety of guests, associates, and hotel property
Perform security patrols and monitoring of restaurants, public areas, banquet and meeting space, guest floors, associate entrance, parking areas, office back‑of‑house areas, and hotel exteriors
Visit all locations requiring special attention as frequently as required
Respond immediately to emergency incidents and security requests
Monitor Closed Circuit Television and alarm systems and the security of the receiving area
Report in writing and orally on all activities during each shift before leaving the hotel, including emergency notifications
Complete all administrative duties of the Loss Prevention Department such as writing reports, maintaining files, processing work orders, ordering supplies, scheduling, and posting bulletin board information
Maintain a professional appearance and attitude at all times
Monitor associates entering and leaving the hotel, collect all package passes, and inspect parcels taken from the hotel
Monitor the back entrance and receiving dock
Check all personnel entering and provide information and direction upon proper identification of all job applicants, salesmen, etc.; notify the department head for permission for non‑staff personnel to enter
Confiscate unauthorized items and notify the Director of Loss Prevention, Director of Engineering, Human Resources Director, and the appropriate department head
Ensure key control program phases are maintained and investigate discrepancies, reporting to the Director of Loss Prevention
Maintain security equipment (uniforms, push‑to‑talk radios, cameras, SALTO Card system, etc.) in clean and working condition
Administer the hotel Lost and Found program
Maintain constant communication with the Director of Loss Prevention
Perform duties assigned by supervisor and respond to directions from any Executive Committee member or Manager
Qualifications
One year of experience in a similar Loss Prevention role preferred
Valid Tennessee Unarmed Security Guard License upon hire
Successfully complete Dallas’s Law training prior to hire
Experience in Loss Prevention in an upscale hospitality establishment preferred
CPR and basic first aid certification
Good verbal and written communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and email
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Professional business appearance and attitude at all times
Flexibility to work a schedule that includes day, evening, weekends, and holidays
Move, bend, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance
Stand, walk, or sit for extended periods or for an entire shift
Repetitive motion, including use of telephone or computer for extended periods or an entire shift
