Primary Position Objectives Perform clerical, accounting entry, and administrative duties in support of the finance and procurement as directed by management and in compliance with government regulations and corporate policies and procedures.

Position Responsibilities

Perform administrative and clerical functions in support of the Job Corps Finance department

Assist accountant in the preparation and distribution of student pay and accounting entries into computerized accounting system to ensure accounts reconcile

Assist accountant in the maintenance of cash disbursement journal, general and cost ledgers, post accounting transactions, prepare reconciliations, and perform financial tabulations

Assist in the accounts payable process, complete invoice preparation and entry into computerized accounting system to process payments; maintain AP documentation

Assist with entry into computerized accounting system for deposits and petty cash reimbursement

Assist with LDA bank balance monitoring and preparation of LDA requests to maintain positive balance in account

Work towards meeting performance standards and goals

Adhere to required property control policies and procedures

Maintain good housekeeping in all areas and comply with safety practices

Demonstrate and abide by LifeSkills Connection’s core values and operating principles

Comply with all DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulation, Quality Assurance Plan (QAP), LifeSkills Connection’s policies and procedures, Job Corps notices and bulletins, and Center policies and procedures

Participate in mandated Job Corps Center staff training

Perform other duties as assigned

Position Competencies

Effective Communication:

Present information both clearly and concisely and regularly confirm correct interpretation of information

Very high standard of communication skills, both written and oral, for the presentation of facts and ideas

Written communication must be clear, concise, easy to read and comprehend

Organization of Work:

Demonstrate the ability to handle several projects simultaneously

Implement the key principles of time management, task allocation and priority assignment in addition to personal organization

Continually seek ways to improve the service provided via development of professional skills and personal growth

Initiate and respond to suggestions for improving service

Qualifications

Knowledge of accounting/finance software and/or programs

Proficiency with advanced Microsoft Office applications including Word, Power Point and Excel

Experience Minimum of one to two years’ accounting/finance or related experience.

Education High School Diploma or equivalent.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Valid State Driver’s License with acceptable driving record.
