Sports Assistant NF-02 – U.S. Army MWR
Summary This position is located within the Sports branch of the Business Recreation Division, part of the Directorate of Family, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York.
Duties
Supports activities and services of the athletics and intramural sports program.
Maintains cleanliness and organization of athletic facilities.
Monitors condition of, cleans, and performs minor maintenance on athletics equipment.
Assists in setting up for special events and sports tournaments, including publicity of events and placement of promotional materials.
Requirements
Direct Deposit and Social Security Card are required.
Must meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
A one‑year probationary period may apply.
Must satisfactorily complete an employment verification check (E‑Verify).
Must satisfy all pre‑employment checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215‑3.
Requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI background investigation.
Must obtain and maintain a nationally recognized certification in First Aid, CPR, and AED within one year of employment.
Must be able to lift and carry objects up to 45 lbs independently and objects over 45 lbs with assistance.
Must endure physical demands beyond normal requirements (prolonged standing, walking, exposure to moderate discomforts).
Must accommodate a flexible work schedule (early mornings, late nights, weekends, holidays). The schedule will be irregular.
Employer‑referred pre‑employment physical examination is required.
Must be willing to accept part‑time employment.
Management reserves the right to reassign employees to other facilities.
Eligibility
U.S. Citizens and non‑U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. Territories for three continuous years immediately preceding the start of federal affiliation.
Residence within the 100‑mile radius of Fort Drum, New York.
Spouse Employment Preference (SEP) and Involuntarily Separated Military Preference (ISMP) are included in the area of consideration.
