Position Overview
Capital Project Manager – Inside Higher Ed – Hamilton, NY
Key Responsibilities
Manage construction projects on campus, serving as liaison between architects, engineers, contractors, and university stakeholders.
Provide on‑site inspection and coordination, ensuring compliance with plans and specifications.
Verify and approve applications for payment, negotiate necessary change orders, and issue weekly progress reports.
Maintain project files, close‑out documentation, and confirm compliance with ADA, building, life safety codes, and internal security/safety requisites.
Participate in selection of potential bidders/contractors through review of plans and specifications.
Qualifications
Minimum 5 years of related experience in project management, construction administration, architecture, engineering, or equivalent education and experience.
Demonstrated progressive project experience with increasing project complexity and ability to manage multiple projects at various phases of development.
Intimate knowledge of all elements of planning, design, and construction, including methods, systems, materials, contract enforcement, and building code requirements.
Proficiency with project management software applications such as ProCore, CMiC, AutoCAD, Microsoft Project, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
Effective communication and interaction with campus groups and facilities department constituencies; independent work and willingness to assume significant responsibility.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in a post‑secondary environment.
Project Management Professional certification.
LEED AP professional.
Additional Information
Salary range: $80,000 – $120,000.
Full‑time – On site at Hamilton, NY.
