About The Job Uses advanced accounting concepts to resolve complex issues. Regularly handles diverse complex accounting assignments, supervises junior accountants, and provides guidance on sensitive matters.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, implement, or maintain general accounting policies, procedures, and internal processes. Assist with ERP system improvements and resolve system errors.
Lead implementation and maintenance of general accounting processes related to Oracle Cloud Financial System and sub‑ledger modules, oversee reconciliations, and train campus units.
Prepare, review, and approve journal entries; maintain reconciliations for assigned ledger accounts.
Provide asset and liability records, review fund balances, and resolve overdrafts or unallowable expenses.
Balance books, prepare financial statements, and manage fiscal year‑end closing entries.
Review and interpret complex policies and compliance with GAAP, GASB, FASB, and public‑accounting principles.
Apply advanced accounting principles for technical analysis and resource allocation.
Offer general guidance to campus partners on accounting principles and serve as backup for department training.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field (required).
Five (5) years of related experience (required); or nine (9) years of directly related experience if no degree.
Critical Knowledge and Skills
Advanced knowledge of accounting theory, principles, and related functions.
Ability to extract, compile, and validate accounting information from multiple sources.
Advanced written and verbal communication skills for presenting complex accounting and finance information.
Proficiency with financial transactions and systems, as well as related policy and regulatory compliance.
Advanced knowledge of common desktop and web applications.
Advanced analytical procedures used in complex accounting projects.
Understanding of interrelationships between procedures and desired results.
