Get to Know Your Team:
Hillcrest Medical Center is a 656-bed hospital that includes The Alexander Burn Center, The Peggy V. Helmerich Women’s Health Center, Kaiser Rehabilitation Center, the latest technology for the treatment of cancer, and the Oklahoma Heart Institute.
Responsibilities
The staffing coordinator performs functions that support nursing services to ensure optimal workflow regarding staffing, unit scheduling, and attendance records.
Prepares staffing and scheduling reports.
Manages unit scheduling and attendance records in coordination with nursing unit managers.
Ensures PRN/float pool employees fulfill their requirements.
Timely and accurately tracks cost center changes made to staff schedules, ensuring appropriateness of moves.
Assists in obtaining replacement staff to ensure optimal staffing levels and appropriate utilization of staff resources.
Timely and accurately updates schedules to reflect call-ins.
Works collaboratively with other staffing coordinators to ensure reporting and communication are accurate.
Works collaboratively with the nursing director, manager, and supervisor on daily staffing plans, based on predictive scheduling system, unit census, acuity, and staff availability.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a medical office/hospital environment.
Proficiency in working with Microsoft Office Suite.
Attention to detail, project management, process management, and organizational skills.
Strong analytical, report running, and report analysis skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
Ability to learn and navigate the timekeeping system.
Ability to work with others in a positive and effective manner.
Preferred job Requirements:
Previous bed management and staffing experience preferred.
