We are hiring a dedicated, personable Accountant to work a hybrid full‑time 35‑hour week or part‑time schedule in South Burlington, VT.
Responsibilities
Process weekly and monthly accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
Reconcile bank accounts and prepare balance sheet reconciliations
Prepare monthly financial statements and related analysis
Track and monitor grants and maintain grant records
Project and monitor cash flow
Coordinate with clients, client staff, boards, and finance committees
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum 3 years of related public‑accounting or nonprofit experience; 5+ years preferred
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a positive attitude
Experience with QuickBooks or willingness to learn multiple accounting software packages
Intermediate Excel skills
Willingness to travel to client offices as needed when safe
Nonprofit experience preferred, but not required
