Maintenance Mechanic (Food Manufacturing)
PrideNow is urgently hiring for a
Maintenance Mechanic
preferably with a
NJ Black Seal Boiler Operator license
for one of our Food Processing/Manufacturing clients in
Newark, NJ.
Job Type:
Direct Hire/Permanent
Pay Range:
$35/hr
Shift:
6am-3pm or 4pm, flexible for OT as needed
Job Description Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Support plant start‑ups, shutdowns, and changeovers
Respond to equipment breakdowns and minimize downtime
Maintain documentation for work orders and maintenance logs
Follow all food safety, GMP, HACCP, and SQF requirements
Assist with installation, assembly, and commissioning of new machinery
Safely use hand tools, power tools, and industrial equipment
Work closely with production teams to identify and resolve equipment issues
Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times
Knowledge of high‑pressure steam boilers ops
Qualifications
2–5 years of experience as a Maintenance Mechanic or Industrial Mechanic (preferably in food processing/manufacturing)
Strong mechanical aptitude with experience working on conveyors, mixers, ovens, pumps, motors, baggers, fillers, wrappers, etc.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
Experience with pneumatics and hydraulics required
Basic electrical troubleshooting skills
Familiarity with CMMS systems a plus
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, climb, stand, and work in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to work safely and follow plant safety policies
Hold/Obtain NJ Black Seal Boiler Operator license
