East Channel Field Applications Engineer (FAE)
Altera Corporation, the world’s largest independent provider of pure-play FPGA solutions, is seeking an outstanding Field Applications Engineer (FAE) to join our Channel team. As the Channel FAE in the West, you will leverage your deep technical knowledge of FPGAs and systems, leadership & communication skills, and business acumen to engage with our broad base of customers and distributor FAEs and grow this important part of our business.
You will work with cutting-edge DSP, AI, embedded, high-speed connectivity, security, etc. across a vast number of industries, exposing yourself to a wide variety of technologies and allowing you to build a broad network in the electronics industry.
You Will Be Expected To
Partner with distributor FAEs and the regional Distribution Sales Manager.
Work with our distribution FAEs to promote Altera technology to win new FPGA business:
Present the technical capabilities of the whole product portfolio.
Engage with customers' architects and key decision makers to understand their applications, influence their design choices, and develop creative solutions to their problems.
Create and deliver technical proposals based on product knowledge, customer requirements, and inputs from internal teams.
Contribute to and execute on territory, account, and opportunity plans.
Provide technical support to customers.
Mentor and teach distribution FAEs to develop technical knowledge and skills.
Build strong and influential relationships within Altera and the customer base.
Lead the technical development & execution of product and application-based customer campaigns and proofs of concept.
Salary Range $191.0K - $276.5K USD. Compensation reflects the cost of labor within the US market and may vary based on a number of factors including job location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, trainings, etc.
Qualifications
BS in Electronics Engineering or equivalent with 5+ years of design experience and 3+ years of experience in Field Applications Engineering.
Must have good presentation and interpersonal skills and be comfortable presenting technology and products.
Must be proficient in the use of FPGA development tools.
Willing to travel.
