Responsibilities The Supervisor of Finish Specialist is responsible for optimizing the performance of breeder farms through strategic planning, technical support, and hands‑on guidance. This role ensures compliance with biosecurity and animal welfare standards, supports continuous improvement initiatives, and contributes to the overall success of the live production strategy.
Conduct regular farm visits to monitor flock performance, diagnose issues related to nutrition, health, and husbandry, and implement corrective actions to improve productivity and egg quality.
Implement and enforce biosecurity and animal welfare standards.
Ensure strict adherence to company biosecurity protocols and animal welfare principles. Participate in Salmonella prevention and eradication programs to maintain high standards of flock health and egg safety.
Develop and execute strategic production plans.
Collaborate with breeder and hatchery management to develop long‑range production goals and annual operating plans. Align farm-level objectives with broader live production strategies to ensure consistency and efficiency.
Train and support farm personnel.
Provide hands‑on training and guidance to farm employees on best practices in breeder flock management. Emphasize the importance of early and extended care, barn setup, and flock management to improve flock outcomes.
Drive continuous improvement on underperforming farms.
Identify farms in the bottom performance tier and work collaboratively with farm teams to implement changes. Establish criteria for performance evaluation and track progress to ensure sustained improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science, Poultry Science, or related field preferred.
3+ years of experience in breeder farm operations.
Strong understanding of poultry health, nutrition, and biosecurity practices.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to travel frequently to farm locations.
