Information System Security Officer (ISSO), MTCCS – JBSA – (2054) Yorktown Systems Group, Inc. and its wholly‑owned subsidiaries are a dedicated team of former military and civilian professionals committed to providing ethical and quality services to government customers. Summary Yorktown Systems Group is seeking an Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA) Mission Training Complex (MTC) Contract with operations, simulations, training, logistics, cybersecurity, and IT (Cyberspace) support. The MTC provides training and exercises to Army North (ARNORTH) and Army South (ARSOUTH) areas. The ISSO will support training, mission rehearsal, and simulation exercises including planning, preparation, set‑up, execution, and recovery, as well as adaptive and responsive training for units from squads to echelons above brigade.

Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

Responsible for day‑to‑day security operations of all systems and networks for classified collateral and SCI networks.

Ensure the appropriate operational security posture for JBSA information systems is maintained and documented.

Implement DoD, Army, and JBSA policies, create Plans of Action and Milestones (POA/M) in response to vulnerabilities identified during risk assessments, audits, and inspections. Responsibilities include physical and environmental protection, access control, incident handling, security training, vulnerability and compliance management, configuration management, and assistance in developing security policies and procedures.

Assure successful implementation and functionality of security requirements and appropriate IT policies and procedures consistent with the organization’s mission and goals.

Work in close collaboration with the Government‑appointed ISSM.

Perform duties in accordance with DoD Instruction 8510.01, DoD Directive 8140.01, NIST SP 800‑37, and AR 25‑2.

Job Requirements Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science, mathematics, or related field.

Five years of experience within the past 10 years in planning simulation exercise architectures, supervising implementation of communication systems, and integrating Army C2IS to support distributed exercises.

Five years of experience in information technology management.

Experience with eMass or other RMF databases, creating, uploading, maintaining, and inputting artifacts.

Meet DoD 8570.01‑M, 8140.01 baseline computing environment certification requirements at Information Assurance Management Level II (IAM II).

U.S. citizen.

Active SECRET clearance for collateral level or TOP SECRET/SCI.

Three years of experience on a senior Military Staff.

Desired Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Management.

Expert understanding of NIST, DoD, and Army Cybersecurity & Risk Management Framework policies, directives, instructions, manuals, and best practices.

Knowledge of current industry methods for evaluating, implementing, and disseminating IT security assessment, monitoring, detection and remediation tools and procedures utilizing standards‑based concepts (e.g., ACAS, MECM, ESS).

Knowledge of disaster recovery continuity of operations plans.

Knowledge of enterprise incident response program, roles, and responsibilities.

Knowledge of network security architecture concepts including topology, protocols, components, and principles (e.g., Defense‑in‑Depth).

Knowledge of known vulnerabilities from alerts, advisories, errata, and bulletins.

Knowledge of measures or indicators of system performance and availability.

Clearance Active Secret security clearance required; TS/SCI preferred.

Travel Some travel may be required.
