CBIZ Talent Solutions is assisting our client in their search for an IT Specialist in New York, NY.
The I.T. Specialist will manage and support the company’s technology systems across all environments. This role requires hands‑on problem‑solving, strong communication, and the ability to support a mix of creative and business staff working on time‑sensitive deliverables. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, deadline‑driven setting and is comfortable working closely with our external Managed Service Provider (MSP) on ongoing system and network maintenance.
Key Responsibilities Technical Support & Troubleshooting
Provide day‑to‑day desktop, network, and application support for macOS and Windows users.
Troubleshoot issues related to hardware, software, connectivity, and user access.
Support mobile devices and remote‑access workflows for on‑site and off‑site teams.
Administer and support collaboration and communication platforms, including
Microsoft 365 ,
Zoom ,
email security/filtering tools , and
VoIP phone systems
(e.g., user setup, permissions, troubleshooting, and basic configuration).
Business Application & Productivity Support
Install, configure, and support
Microsoft 365/Office applications
(Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive, SharePoint).
Support
Adobe Acrobat
and other PDF/document tools used across the organization.
Provide end‑user support and training for
Zoom
meetings, webinars, and room systems.
Assist with setup and ongoing support for other common office and productivity tools (e.g., password managers, e‑signature platforms, web‑based line‑of‑business applications).
Maintain software license inventories and ensure users have appropriate access to required tools.
Systems Administration
Maintain and administer user accounts, permissions, and groups across systems (e.g., Microsoft 365, file sharing, and key SaaS platforms).
Manage patching, updates, and asset lifecycle for computers and network hardware.
Support cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft 365, Box.com, and others), including mailbox and license management, Teams/SharePoint access, and security settings.
Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues, escalating to the MSP when appropriate.
Network & Infrastructure
Coordinate with the
Managed Service Provider (MSP)
to maintain LAN/WAN, Wi‑Fi networks, switches, firewalls, and VPN connections.
Work with vendors and the MSP on installations, upgrades, repairs, monitoring, and security improvements for network and server infrastructure.
Coordinate with the MSP on regular maintenance, backups, and incident response for on‑prem and cloud systems.
Information Security
Help implement and manage cybersecurity protocols and endpoint protection.
Support secure data transfer workflows and encryption practices.
Train employees on security best practices and threat awareness, working with the MSP on policies and enforcement where needed.
On‑Site Support (as needed)
Assist with tech setup for meetings both in‑person and over video conference (e.g., Zoom rooms, conference room A/V, presentations).
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth day‑to‑day technical operations in the office.
Qualifications Required
3+ years of I.T. support experience.
Strong troubleshooting skills across macOS and Windows.
Experience with shared storage systems (e.g., Box.com or similar).
Familiarity with networking (TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, switching, firewalls, VPN).
Experience administering
Microsoft 365
(e.g., Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint) and supporting
Zoom ,
VoIP phone systems , and
email security/filtering solutions .
Excellent communication, documentation, and customer‑service skills.
Preferred
Experience supporting business users in fast‑paced, creative or professional services environments.
Knowledge of scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Bash, Python) for basic automation and administration.
Experience with cloud‑based storage and SaaS tools used in modern offices.
Understanding of security best practices in cloud‑based environments.
Experience collaborating with a
Managed Service Provider (MSP)
or outsourced I.T. support.
Compensation range is between $65,000 - $85,000k
