Coder Full Time (non remote)
Mesquite Specialty Hospital in Mesquite, Texas (in the Dallas–Fort Worth area) is a long-term acute care hospital providing advanced medical care for patients with serious, prolonged illnesses or complex injuries. We specialize in treating patients who need extended hospitalization and intensive services – such as ventilator/respiratory care, cardiac monitoring, IV medication management, and complex wound care – in order to recover sufficiently before transitioning to home or a lower level of care.

We are seeking a Coder to join our team of passionate patient caregivers!

Qualifications Required Skills:
Two years of medical coding experience in ICD-9/ICD-10 preferred.
Medical Coding Certification preferred.
Additional Qualifications/Skills:
Current knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding principles, government regulations, protocols, and third party payer requirements regarding coding and billing.
Knowledge of government prospective payment system guidelines preferred.
Working knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
Demonstrates general computer skills including: data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
Effective organizational and time management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain quality and safety standards.
Ability to maintain proper levels of confidentiality.
Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
Responsibilities Using ICD-10-CM standards, codes, and abstracts medical records for reimbursement purposes. Integrates the hospital’s mission and "Guiding Principles" into daily practice.
