Senior Accountant - Technical & Financial Reporting
Senior Accountant needed for a growing public accounting firm in Las Vegas. Base + Bonus – Lots of room for growth here!
Base pay range: $70,000 – $85,000 per year.
Job Details Our client has been providing highly personalized tax, accounting and financial advice to closely held businesses and their owners for over 34 years, with an emphasis on income and estate tax planning and asset protection. Knowledge Expectations
Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and other comprehensive bases of accounting (e.g., cash basis, tax basis, accrual basis).
Ability to make adjusting journal entries.
Capable of preparing basic financial statements, including cash flow statements, under manager supervision.
Able to prepare full‑disclosure financial statements under manager supervision.
Understands the different types of attest services and can distinguish between a compilation and a review engagement, including steps to complete each.
Prepares organized, well‑documented, and properly cross‑referenced work papers supported by clear conclusions.
Proficient in preparing payroll, sales and use tax, and personal property tax returns, as well as year‑end W‑2s and 1099s.
Knowledgeable in accounting‑related legislation and regulatory requirements, including sales and payroll tax.
Experienced in assisting clients with QuickBooks Online or Desktop setup (including AR and AP).
Comfortable using IRS reference materials such as Publication 15 (Circular E), Publication 15‑A, and other research tools for complex accounting and tax questions.
Able to obtain and maintain QuickBooks ProAdvisor certification.
Proficient in reading, recording, and reconciling broker statements.
