Electro Freeze/H.C. Duke & Son, LLC, a leading manufacturer in the frozen treat and beverage industry, is seeking an Accounting Analyst to drive financial accuracy, provide insightful analysis, and champion continuous process improvement. The role goes beyond transactional accounting to include the creation, analysis, and interpretation of financial and operational reports.
Salary
$55,000 – $75,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial Reporting and Analysis
Play an active role in the month‑end close process, including preparation, reconciliation, and analysis of key financial data. Generate, interpret, and present actionable sales and margin reports. Deliver ad hoc reports and provide financial insights to company leadership. Compile and analyze daily, weekly, and monthly cash reports. Provide monthly analysis of purchase price variances and material usage. Operational and Cost Accounting
Create and post monthly journal entries in SAP. Manage the fixed asset lifecycle, including acquisition tracking, depreciation schedules, and audit preparation. Consolidate, review and process monthly multi‑state sales tax reports. Assist with general accounting duties as needed. Oversee daily invoicing and verify accuracy in customer billing. Gather and report standard costs related to material, labor and overhead. Provide monthly analysis of purchase price variances and material usage. Process Improvement, Compliance and Cross‑Functional Support
Identify opportunities for new reporting, automation, and data visualization to support decision‑making. Actively participate in cross‑functional projects focused on process improvement, system enhancements, and change management. Support internal and external audits through documentation and analytical support. Additional duties as assigned. JOB REQUIREMENTS
Meticulous attention to detail. Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed recommendations. Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, Power Query, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, nested formulas); experience with data modeling or visualization tools is a plus. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, or related field; or equivalent work experience. Experience with SAP or other ERP systems. Aptitude to become a power user is a plus. Minimum 2 years of progressive accounting experience; manufacturing experience preferred. Experience leading or contributing to process improvement or system implementation projects is a plus.
