Family Office is seeking an experienced Controller to oversee personal accounting, treasury management, and financial reporting across a diverse group of entities. This role requires a hands‑on operator who can design, manage, and refine accounting systems while working closely with a remote bookkeeper and external advisors.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all accounting, treasury, and reporting functions for approximately 10–15 entities.
Develop and maintain effective workflows using QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Excel‑based dashboards.
Supervise a remote AP bookkeeper and coordinate with the firm’s CPA, legal counsel, and insurance partners.
Perform reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and manage inter‑entity transactions directly.
Produce clear, well‑designed monthly and quarterly financial reports.
Continuously evaluate and improve processes, identifying opportunities to increase accuracy and efficiency.
Act with sound judgment and discretion, safeguarding the principal’s interests at all times.
Qualifications and Experience
8–15 years of accounting or controllership experience, preferably within a family office or investment‑focused environment.
Strong hands‑on approach with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
Proven ability to design and implement stable, efficient financial systems.
Highly skilled in presenting financial information with clarity and professional formatting.
Demonstrated ownership mindset and decision‑making grounded in integrity.
Calm, personable communicator who values trust and transparency.
Proficient in QuickBooks Online, Bill.com, and Excel; CPA or equivalent credential preferred.
Based in Austin or able to travel periodically; outstanding remote candidates may be considered.
