As a Founding Engineer, you will work closely with experienced repeat founders and senior engineers to build the core product and define how AI driven decisions are made at scale. You will help set standards for AI security, reliability, and accountability in an environment where best practices are still evolving.
This is a high ownership role spanning backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and architectural decision making. You will play a key part in shaping the technical direction, growing the engineering team, and building the culture from day one.
The role is based in New York, with an expectation of 4 to 5 days per week in the office.
What you’ll do
Design and build production systems for core products
Own backend and infrastructure work using Go, Python, Postgres, GCP or AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD
Work across the stack when needed, including React, Vite, and TypeScript
Move quickly, work directly with customers, and turn complex problems into scalable solutions
Contribute to engineering culture and long term technical strategy
What we’re looking for
Experience working in early stage startups or high growth environments
Hands on experience building or working with AI driven products
Strong backend and infrastructure background with ownership of technical decisions
Comfort operating in ambiguity, moving fast, and making sound engineering judgement calls
Leadership mindset with an interest in mentoring and shaping team culture
