Our footprint includes nearly 300 distribution yards and 100+ service centers. The corporate Field Support Center, located in the Atlanta metro area, provides IT infrastructure, networking, and operations support to all locations.
Role Summary As a
Senior Network Engineer , you will serve as a technical escalation point and architect for our large‑scale networking environment. You’ll design, monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance the network infrastructure that connects 300+ sites. You’ll also lead network projects, support cross‑functional teams, and work with vendors and carriers to ensure reliable, scalable connectivity.
Key Responsibilities
Design and implement large‑scale WAN infrastructure across a multi‑site network (U.S. & Canada)
Troubleshoot network issues and resolve complex problems
Monitor network health, performance, and KPIs
Manage circuits, phone systems, and national telecom relationships
Maintain and configure firewalls, routers, switches, and other network devices
Oversee VOIP architecture and endpoint connectivity
Use and sustain network monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds, Cisco FMC/FTD, Meraki, Ubiquiti)
Follow change management and escalation procedures
Produce documentation, network diagrams, and knowledge base content
Mentor junior staff and provide leadership on network projects
Engage carriers and vendors for network upgrades, rollouts, and incident resolution
Travel occasionally for site implementation or upgrades
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or comparable experience
5+ years working with Cisco IOS (routing, switching, firewall)
Strong knowledge of networking protocols: BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS, VPLS, QoS
Experience with carrier technologies (TDM, MPLS, OC‑level circuits)
Familiarity with wireless systems, 802.1x, PKI, VPN technologies
Proficiency in network monitoring and diagnostics
Solid written and verbal communication skills
Experience with change control, process adherence, and cost optimization
Non‑Cisco certifications (e.g. Juniper, Fortinet)
Data center or cabling experience
Exposure to automation/orchestration tools (Puppet, Chef, BMC, etc.)
