We are looking for
Appliance Repair Technician
to diagnose, install, maintain, and fix household appliances (like fridges, washers, ovens) by troubleshooting issues, replacing parts (motors, circuit boards, belts), using hand/specialized tools, adhering to safety/environmental rules (refrigerants), and providing excellent customer service, including explaining repairs, providing estimates, and handling billing. Key skills include technical expertise, problem-solving, customer communication, physical stamina, and staying current with technology.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnosis & Repair:
Inspect, troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, and reassemble appliances; test for proper function; replace/adjust mechanical, electrical, or electronic parts (motors, switches, circuit boards).
Installation:
Install new large appliances like washers, dryers, dishwashers, and ovens.
Customer Service:
Respond to calls, explain problems, provide cost estimates, offer repair/replacement advice, train customers on usage, collect payments, and maintain professionalism.
Documentation & Compliance:
Maintain records of repairs, parts used, and time; handle refrigerant recovery/recycling per federal law; manage stock/inventory.
Safety:
Adhere to safety regulations, inspect gas lines for leaks, and dispose of hazardous materials.
Essential Skills & Requirements
Technical Skills:
Strong electrical/mechanical knowledge, ability to read schematics/manuals, proficiency with tools, understanding of refrigeration cycles, basic tech skills (EPA Section 608 Certification).
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication (explaining complex issues simply), problem-solving, customer focus, time management, attention to detail, teamwork.
Physical Ability:
Dexterity, strength to lift heavy items, ability to work in various conditions.
Education:
High school diploma/equivalent
