Black Cape is a technology company focused on AI, Machine Learning, Cloud, and Big Data for federal government customers. The Data Engineer role supports national security missions by building data pipelines and analytical dashboards. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain data pipelines using Databricks, Python, and related tools. Collaborate with Data Scientists and Software Engineers to ensure scalable deployment of models. Transform complex model outputs into interactive dashboards using Qlik. Work with secure environments (JWICS, NIPR, SIPR) and AWS to deliver capabilities to senior defense leadership. Qualifications
Required Technical Skills (MUST HAVES) 3+ years of professional experience in data engineering. Python experience for data manipulation and beyond. Experience with at least one object‑oriented programming language; preferred Python. R programming experience. Proficiency in Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes. Experience with relational databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQLite3. Preferred Technical Skills (NICE TO HAVES) Database design, server management, and connection protocols. Experience with NiFi, SQL, NoSQL, Graph, Data Lakes, Qlik, and Databricks. Cybersecurity knowledge for unique data transfer protocols. Experience with common data formats (XLSX, JSON, XML, CSV, HTML, JPEG, PNG, audio, visual media, encryption protocols, compressed formats). Employment Details
Full‑time, Mid‑Senior level. TS/SCI clearance required. Up to 2–5 onsite days per week based on customer needs. Competitive salary, 401(k), generous time off, mentorship, tuition reimbursement. Contact
