HR Tech – Office of the Medical Investigator We are a nationally accredited program that supports the State of New Mexico through forensic investigation of deaths. The Office of the Medical Investigator (OMI) is the state’s medical examiner and provides 24/7 services to employees, citizens, and visitors. OMI is a dedicated UNM Health Sciences Department of Pathology program that determines the cause and manner of death in all cases where the cause is unknown.

Job Overview As an HR Tech, you will support the dynamic HR operations of OMI. You will work onsite to manage transactional HR activities, assist with hiring and recruitment, process staffing changes, support reporting, manage records, and perform technical aspects of HR initiatives.

Responsibilities

Process and track staff hiring, onboarding, and terminations.

Assist with HR reporting and data management.

Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HR policies.

Support technical HR initiatives such as database management and analytics.

Provide diplomatic and solutions‑oriented support to the 200‑plus workforce.

Work onsite only on the North Campus Health Sciences Center.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

At least 3 years of experience directly related to HR or administrative duties.

Degree from an accredited institution above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year‑for‑year basis.

Preferred Qualifications

Microsoft proficiency.

Experience in HR or administrative settings.

Advanced database management, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.

Advanced technical task performance.

Discretion and composure in challenging environments.

Additional Requirements Location: North Campus Health Sciences Center (HSC), Albuquerque, NM. Department: Office of the Medical Investigator (389A). Employment type: Regular – Full‑Time, Staff. Status: Non‑Exempt. Pay: Hourly $19.56 – $26.58. Benefits eligible: This position is benefits eligible.
