Job Summary And Qualifications As a
Monitor Technician , you will deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered care to cardiac patients, monitoring for age‑related arrhythmias and reporting results to the nursing staff. Our team is a family who work hard to support each other, and we are looking for someone who considers patient care as meaningful as we do.
Responsibilities
Provide competent, continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring and interpretation, safe and effective use of equipment.
Act as a positive team participant on patient care units, have courteous interactions with visitors, patients, and medical staff, and support unit and hospital philosophy, goals and objectives.
Act in a composed and professional manner, especially under pressure.
Follow patient and employee safety/security policies and protocols, including hand hygiene, use of universal precautions, PPE, and adherence to isolation procedures.
Perform clerical work as needed, including assembling and maintaining charts, filing, answering and transferring phones, and relaying messages.
Qualifications
Six months or more of telemetry monitoring experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Knowledge of specialty equipment and tools: telemetry monitoring system management, strong cardiac rhythm recognition, interpretation skills and strong communication skills.
American Red Cross or American Heart Association Basic Life Support Course (BLS or BCLS) and certification.
