Base pay range $96,336.00/yr - $121,413.00/yr
Description Lead and manage ITS federal compliance program, with primary responsibility for all audit requirements and inquiries related to IRS Publication 1075, Social Security Administration and FBI CJIS programs. Serve as the primary point of contact for all federal inquiries, audit requests and inter-agency communications relating to these programs.
Direct and coordinate timely and accurate ITS responses to federal engagements including IRS safeguard reviews, Safeguard Security Reports (SSR), Corrective Action Plans (CAP), Taxpayer First Act contractor reporting, SSA Plan of Action and Milestones.
Supervise and provide technical oversight to the federal Compliance Team, ensuring staff execute assignments accurately, meet deadlines, and maintain compliance with federal programs.
Oversee coordination efforts with all ITS units (Dedicated and Enterprise Teams) including hosting, network, security, mainframe, identity management, platforms and others to ensure enterprise-wide alignment with federal standards and audit requirements.
Lead multi‑agency communication, outreach and collaboration efforts for federal audits; manage and track remediation efforts for federal audit findings, including SSR/CAP/POAM development, prioritization and reporting.
Assist in the preparation of periodic reports for ITS Executive Management; serve as a liaison during all federal on‑site audits; establish and improve workflows to support compliance, monitoring, reporting, document control and audit readiness.
Proactively identify compliance gaps and communicate with technology owners to address them. Assist in identifying staff training needs and coordinate with management to provide the necessary resources. Perform the full range of supervisory duties and all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Open to NYS employees with one year of permanent competitive service as an Information Technology Specialist 4 (SG25), or in a position at the SG23 level or higher deemed administrative under Section 52.6 of Civil Service Law, or a title eligible for transfer under Section 70.1 of Civil Service Law. The transfer cannot be a second consecutive transfer resulting in advancement of more than two salary grades.

Additional Comments ITS will not offer permanent employment unless the candidate provides documentation that they are authorized to accept work in the United States permanently. ITS does not hire F1 or H1 visa holders for permanent employment or sponsor non‑immigrant aliens for temporary work authorization visas or permanent residence.
Some positions may require fingerprinting, up to 25% travel and/or lifting up to 50 lbs. Some positions are pending Civil Service approval.
If eligible, positions located in New York City receive an additional $3,400 downstate adjustment location pay; Mid‑Hudson locations receive an additional $1,650 adjustment location pay.
