must demonstrate their adaptability by being able to install multiple types of devices in a restricted SCIF environment. The

Fiber Optic / Low Voltage Technician

will require good communication skills and the ability to work well in a team setting. It is important that candidates keep abreast of industry trends and developments, as well as applicable Government regulations. Typical Duties

Install, route, and secure fiber optic cabling within SCIF-rated pathways Install overhead and wall-mounted cable tray systems to support cabling infrastructure Terminate, splice, and test singlemode and multimode fiber (Corning systems) Conduct OTDR, power meter, and continuity testing with detailed reporting Install racks, patch panels, grounding systems, and secure cable management hardware Read and interpret SOWs, site drawings, and security compliance guidelines Follow strict SCIF access, escort, and material handling protocols Perform work in accordance with BICSI, TIA, and DoD standards Ensuring all work complies with applicable AHJ codes and industry standards. Ensuring plans, specs, and wiring diagrams are adhered to. Maintaining open communication with direct superior ensuring that work quality, performance, and materials meet required schedules and expectations. Following and maintaining proper safety practices. Requirements

Educational Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent Certification Requirements: OSHA certifications preferred BICSI, Corning, CommScope, or Panduit Certifications Desired Clearance Requirements:

Ability to obtain US DoD SECRET Experience Requirements

Minimum 3–5 years low-voltage / structured cabling experience Hands-on experience with fiber optic installation, splicing, and testing Prior work in government, military, or high-security environments preferred Experience installing cable tray, conduit, and grounding systems Must have reliable transportation. Must have own hand tools. Must be able to stand, kneel, and crouch for long periods of time. Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding. Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds. Must be able to work in high places and in confined places. Work sites vary from finished space interiors to new construction sites. Appropriate dress according to the work environment is required. Work hours will vary according to individual projects. Some jobs may require weekend shifts.
