Job Overview

Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service. Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customers to return. Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals, monitor quality assurance standards, and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Front‑End department. Support day‑to‑day operations and execute best practices, goals, and standards. Demonstrate Kroger’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Responsibilities Promote trust and respect among associates.

Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated by answering questions about products sold within the department and across the store.

Maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to customer inquiries and suggestions.

Monitor and control supply expenses.

Manage cash control, sales, and cash items and records.

Schedule Front‑End associates to ensure adequate coverage.

Assist in preparing store/department budget, profit and loss reviews, and taking appropriate action on financial reports.

Create and execute budgets and labor scheduling in partnership with store management.

Develop and implement department action plans to achieve desired results.

Collaborate with Front‑End associates and promote teamwork.

Display a positive attitude.

Stay current with present, future, seasonal, and special ads.

Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines.

Maintain proper temperature logs in cases and coolers.

Enforce safety programs, comply with procedures, and report unsafe conditions.

Perform preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and reporting repairs.

Notify management of customer or employee accidents.

Report all safety risks, illegal activity, and theft.

Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws and company guidelines.

Work cooperatively in a high‑paced and sometimes stressful environment.

Manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.

Act with honesty and integrity regarding customer and business information.

Follow directions and seek assistance when necessary to resolve customer and business issues.

Provide support to minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.

Minimum Qualifications Ability to handle stressful situations.

Effective communication skills.

Basic math knowledge (counting, addition, substitution).

Retail or customer service experience.

Desired Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent.

Management experience.

Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).
