Responsibilities
With guidance, perform cable upgrades and splicing tasks, both aerial and underground
Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment post‑installation
Ensure all splicing operations meet strict customer and industry standards
Safely navigate working at different heights, from underground to in the air
Complete basic daily maintenance of vehicles, including fluid checks
Document work performed through daily production reports, including marking up maps and keeping correct material usage records
Complete & maintain all required training
Use hand tools, ladders, and equipment to aid in project completion
You will test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation
You will perform tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of Copper Cables
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
To be 18 years of age or older
Authorization to work in the United States for this company
High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
Valid State driver's license (cannot be considered Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
Must be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card
Six months of copper splicing experience or one year of experience in the telecommunications industry
Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber, is preferred
Physical Abilities & Exposures
Routinely: operate vehicle and heavy machinery, squeeze, fine hand motion, work alone in remote locations with arms above shoulder level, bend, stoop, stand, walk, climb stairs and lift greater than 55 pounds
Occasionally: work in confined spaces, use ladder, keyboard and mouse
The wage range for Splicer I Copper is $25.00 - $37.00.
