MissionHires is seeking an experienced Tax Associate with 5–8 years of public accounting experience focused on tax preparation and review for corporations (C-Corps, S-Corps), partnerships, and individuals, including high-net-worth clients. This role reports to a supportive Tax Manager and Partner and will work on high-value local clients in the Tampa, FL area while being based in or willing to relocate to Jacksonville, FL. No CPA or EA required. Strong proficiency with professional tax software (e.g., CCH ProSystem FX, UltiPro, or similar) and excellent client-facing communication are essential.
How You'll Contribute
Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals (1040), partnerships (1065), C-Corporations (1120), and S-Corporations (1120S)
Perform tax work for businesses ranging from $1M to $50M in revenue across Tampa, FL and surrounding areas
Conduct and support audits for corporate and individual tax engagements
Enter and validate complex tax data accurately and efficiently in professional tax software
Assist with tax advisory conversations directly with clients; communicate findings and recommendations clearly
Collaborate with the Tax Manager and Partner on workload prioritization, technical reviews, and quality control
Research tax issues and ensure compliance with current federal and state tax regulations
Manage deadlines across multiple concurrent client engagements with high attention to detail
Contribute to a client-first, service-oriented culture aligned with MissionHires’ values
What Makes You a Great Fit
5–8 years of recent PUBLIC accounting experience focused on tax (not private/industry roles such as senior accountant, controller, or accounting manager)
Hands-on experience preparing Forms 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S
Proficiency with professional tax software such as CCH ProSystem FX, UltiPro, or equivalent
Demonstrated experience working with high-net-worth individuals and a range of business clients ($1M–$50M revenue)
Experience supporting or performing audits related to these entity types
Strong client communication skills and comfort engaging directly with clients for tax advisory
High accuracy and speed entering and reviewing tax information and workpapers
Ability to live in the Jacksonville, FL area or willingness to relocate
Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Accounting, Finance, or related); CPA/EA NOT required
Proven ability to manage multiple deadlines and deliver high-quality work under guidance of Tax Manager and Partner
Salary
$80–90K annually

Full-time role with
5-day workweeks during tax season
4-day workweek (Fridays off)
for 8 months of the year (April–December)
