Direct Support Professional – Weekend Package – Harmony House
Join Lutheran Services in Iowa as a Direct Support Professional for the weekend package at Harmony House in Muscatine. This position allows you to work a benefit-eligible job on the weekends while staying home during the weekdays.
Hours Available Saturdays – 6 AM to 2 PM, 2 PM to 10 PM, 10 PM to 6 AM Sundays – 6 AM to 2 PM, 2 PM to 10 PM, 10 PM to 6 AM
(Each shift totals eight hours. You can work multiple shifts to reach part or full time. Shift schedules are: 1st shift 6 AM–2 PM, 2nd shift 2 PM–10 PM, 3rd shift 10 PM–6 AM.)
This is a non‑sleeping role; you must be awake during all shifts.
What We Do As one of Iowa's most trusted non‑profit human services agencies, LSI has served the community for over 160 years. Our Services for People with Disabilities team wraps care around individuals statewide, providing everything from occasional respite care to 24/7 support in shared apartments or one‑on‑one care through our Supported Community Living (SCL) program. You can make a direct impact on the lives of the Iowans we serve.
What You’ll Do You will work directly with adults with disabilities and/or mental health needs, providing support, assistance, and instruction to facilitate personal growth and independence. Your responsibilities include building and maintaining positive relationships, assisting with physical cares (hygiene, diaper/brief changes, feeding, toileting, transfers), and reflecting a positive, willing attitude.
What You’ll Need A high school diploma or GED. Experience with SCL or other people with disabilities is preferred but not required. A valid driver’s license, auto insurance, good driving record, and the ability to pass an extensive background check (including Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry, and criminal history).
