NA Payroll Specialist
Embecta is seeking a highly skilled and motivated NA Payroll Specialist who will be responsible for all payroll‑related responsibilities in the United States, Canada, and Mexico. This includes processing payroll, managing payroll taxes, special payroll deductions, and various other tasks. The role ensures compliance with local tax laws and regulations and assists with implementation of payroll systems and processes. The ideal candidate will have experience with Dayforce and will play a key role in ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant payroll processing for our employees worldwide.
Location and Work Arrangement:
Hybrid in Parsippany office, 2 days per week, or fully remote from Minnesota.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll Processing:
End‑to‑end payroll processing for multiple countries, primarily US, Canada, and Mexico, with possible extension of scope, ensuring timely and accurate payments for employees.
Manage payroll for both salaried and hourly employees, ensuring accurate calculations and reporting.
Timekeeping administration, including time‑off requests, hourly clocking, manager delegations, etc.
Process statutory taxes, special deductions, and reconciliations.
Coordinate with stakeholders on payroll preparation and payroll funding.
Ensure compliance with local labor laws and tax obligations.
Respond to employee payroll queries with professionalism and clarity.
Assist in year‑end payroll activities.
Participate in ongoing payroll system projects.
Compliance & Reporting:
Stay current on changes in payroll regulations to ensure full compliance.
Prepare and submit payroll‑related reports to government agencies as required.
Participate in internal and external payroll audits, ensuring all documentation is accurate and compliant with SOX controls.
Create ad‑hoc reports for Finance, Benefits, and HR teams.
Payroll Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
Collaborate cross‑functionally with Accounting, HR, Benefits, and other departments to ensure smooth payroll operations.
System and Process Improvement:
Identify and assist with process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance payroll accuracy and efficiency.
Help evaluate payroll systems to enhance processing capabilities, particularly with Dayforce.
Foster a culture of continuous improvement, accuracy, and accountability within the payroll function.
Solid understanding of local payroll legislation and statutory reporting, preferably in US, Canada, and Mexico.
Proficiency in Dayforce, Workday, and Excel.
Eagerness to learn new systems, expand country coverage, and grow professionally.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
Willingness to take initiative, embrace responsibility, and contribute beyond core tasks.
Highly organized with strong time‑management skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Proven problem‑solving skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
Basic Requirements
High school diploma.
Experience working with Dayforce.
6+ years of payroll processing.
Knowledge of US, Canada and Mexico payroll laws, regulations and compliance requirements.
Preferred Requirements
Speak and write English and Spanish.
FPC and/or CPP designations.

Competitive base salary based on experience and qualifications: $87,600–$116,000 (subject to variation depending on physical location).
