Inbound Inspector – Harmon Scrap Metal We are looking for an Inbound Inspector to support our yard operations by inspecting all inbound materials, ensuring compliance with company policy as well as federal, state, and local regulations before receipt. The successful candidate will also manage safe and efficient traffic flow in and around the yard, maintaining clear communication with customers, truck drivers, and teammates.

Responsibilities

Inspect all incoming material to ensure it meets company quality and safety standards.

Guide traffic flow in and out of the yard, maintaining efficient and safe patterns while communicating with the scale house.

Direct customers, truck drivers, and operators to appropriate areas and ensure safe unloading.

Make decisions regarding commodity purchases or rejections and deductions in accordance with company policies.

Enter inspection data into the software immediately.

Attend and participate in internal meetings and complete required training.

Perform other related duties as assigned by management.

Required Competencies

Use a tablet to enter information into software efficiently.

Maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Education & Experience

High School diploma or GED required.

Preferred: Knowledge of ferrous and nonferrous metals.

Preferred: Experience working in a scrap yard.

Physical Requirements

Stand and walk for extended periods on uneven surfaces.

Lift, carry, push, or pull a minimum of 80 pounds.

Work environment involves frequent exposure to extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dust, fumes, smoke, and loud noises.
