What We Do
We host social events in the Twin Cities and Greater Minnesota, such as coffee shop meet‑ups and movie nights. We offer a variety of activities to appeal to people with different interests, including crafting, gaming, and more. Our events provide just the right amount of structure and support for neurodiverse people. This allows people to be themselves, feel less alone, and build up their social networks.

MNeurodivergent is a Minnesota-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit led by and for neurodivergent adults. Our mission is to reduce isolation, foster authentic connection, and create radically welcoming spaces across the state. We organize inclusive social events, build peer support networks, and promote neurodivergent‑led leadership in communities like Red Wing, the Twin Cities, Duluth, and beyond.
Position Overview
We are seeking a
Community Coordinator
to lead our local volunteer efforts in
Red Wing, MN . In this role, you’ll plan and host inclusive social events, interview and support volunteers, table at local festivals, and serve as the primary local contact for MNeurodivergent’s work in Red Wing. You’ll work closely with other Regional Coordinators across Minnesota and receive guidance from our Events Committee and Board. This is a hands‑on, community‑rooted leadership position ideal for someone passionate about neurodivergent empowerment and connection.
Key Responsibilities Event Planning & Hosting
Organize and host inclusive, neurodivergent‑friendly social events in Red Wing
Coordinate venues, accessibility needs, supplies, and communication with attendees
Ensure events are welcoming, low‑pressure, and aligned with MNeurodivergent values
Volunteer Coordination
Recruit and interview all new volunteers for the Red Wing area
Share interview notes with the Volunteer Committee of the Board for onboarding
Provide support and mentorship to volunteers after onboarding
Lead monthly meetings with all active local volunteers
Outreach & Community Engagement
Identify local festivals and public events for tabling and outreach
Coordinate tabling logistics (supplies, volunteers, fidget sales, banners, etc.)
Represent MNeurodivergent at community events and in local forums
Build relationships with inclusive businesses, libraries, and nonprofits in the area
Fundraising & Local Grant Work
Research and suggest local grants, sponsorships, and fundraising ideas- Collaborate with the statewide Development/Fundraising Work Group on opportunities to support Red Wing‑based efforts
Statewide Organizational Involvement
Attend monthly Events Committee Meetings (virtual calls with other regional leaders)
Report on local events, volunteer needs, outreach efforts, and challenges
Coordinate with other Community Coordinators across Minnesota
Qualifications
Based in or regularly present in Red Wing, MN
Friendly, reliable, and passionate about building inclusive spaces
Comfortable planning events, mentoring volunteers, and hosting monthly meetings
Good communication and follow‑through
Neurodivergent individuals strongly encouraged to apply
Experience in volunteer organizing, community outreach, or event planning is helpful but not required
Commitment Details 4–8 hrs/week. Flexible scheduling. Must attend monthly local volunteer meeting and statewide Events Committee call. On‑site in Red Wing. Minimum 6‑month commitment preferred.
