Job Description
Apex Systems is currently hiring for a
VDI Systems Administrator
with a mission-driven technology company delivering innovative solutions and services to their clients.
Project Details / Mission Supported
Support the design, configuration, and maintenance of a large, globally accessed virtual desktop environment.
Experienced in system design and integration, identity life-cycle management, and process automation and improvement.
Troubleshooting all related performance issue across the organization.
Ensure optimization of desktops for platform interoperability and act as liaison between Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) technologies.
Offers endpoint support on issues and trouble resolution tasks on Virtual Desktop related tasks.
Document operational integration of future technologies (and update as required).
Maintains an advanced knowledge relative to administration, engineering, and implementation of virtual desktop infrastructure-related technologies.
Operate across multiple and complex production environments with multiple stakeholders.
Applies extensive technical expertise and has full knowledge of other related disciplines.
Conducts trade studies and makes recommendations on solutions and makes purchasing decisions.
Education Bachelor's Degree with 12+ years of experience.
Required Skillset
Experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, VMware Horizon, and Nutanix AHV.
Proficient in managing Thin Client devices (Dell, HP, 10Zig).
Skilled in profile disk solutions (FSLogix, Liquidware, Citrix PM, VMware DEM).
Familiarity with secure access technologies (F5, Netscaler).
Strong troubleshooting skills for Windows-based virtual desktops.
Ability to collaborate remotely with teams and management.
Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy management.
Experience using Liquidware Stratusphere UX for performance monitoring.
Comfortable supporting customer training objectives.
Scripting experience with PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
Required Certifications
Security Certification:
CompTIA Security+ CE or equivalent (DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II)
Computing Environment Certification:
(one of the following):
VMware Certified Professional – Desktop Management 2023 (VCP-DTM 2023)
Citrix Certified Professional – Virtualization (1Y0-204)
Nutanix Certified Professional – Multicloud Infrastructure (NCP-MCI)
Microsoft AZ-140: Configuring and Operating Microsoft Azure Virtual Desktop
Microsoft SC-300: Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator
EX200: Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA)
Location Savannah, GA
Onsite Expectation Fully onsite, Monday - Friday
Clearance Level TS/SCI
Security Clearance Note Candidates must be able to obtain and/or maintain a Department of Defense TS/SCI security clearance as a condition and continuation of employment.
