Your Mission in Action The Safety Monitor ensures continuous supervision and accountability by actively monitoring all site cameras. They report any suspicious activity or policy violations that could harm others and work to maintain the safety of both Unaccompanied Children (UC) and staff members.

Responsibilities

Provide security monitoring by maintaining surveillance systems and ensuring they are always recording.

Ensure correct dates and times are recorded on the surveillance systems.

Provide direct supervision of UC and ensure they maintain line‑of‑sight at all times.

Participate in ongoing meetings, conferences, and training programs as required.

Adhere to all Upbring, ORR standards, federal, state, and local regulatory requirements.

Follow Upbring safety policy.

Participate in and support safety meetings, training, and goal setting.

Ensure safe operating conditions within the area of responsibility, such as walking the building premises and checking all doors, vehicles, and outside grounds.

Maintain a clean and orderly work area.

Perform other duties and projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or GED equivalent.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Bilingual in English and Spanish (read, write, speak).

Ability to maintain security equipment.

Ability to use visual and auditory awareness within the work environment.

Ability to use good judgement and think quickly and rationally in difficult and stressful situations.

Ability to remain calm and exhibit compassion.

Ability to work in a team environment and independently.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Proficient with basic computer skills, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel).

Preferred Qualifications

Associate's degree in a human services related field.

1 year of security monitoring experience.

1 year of experience in a childcare or residential care for adolescents.

Physical Demands & Work Conditions

Requires sitting and looking at a computer for long periods of time.

Works in a child facility and has constant exposure to children.

Requires frequent standing, walking and time in units/cottages where children reside.

May lift, push, pull, or move up to 25 lbs.
