Sustainability Coordinator
to join our team!
This position reports directly to our Director of Sustainability and will help advance Natick’s net zero and climate resiliency goals. Regular duties include: measuring and monitoring energy usage and greenhouse gas emissions; planning and supporting capital projects to electrify Natick’s municipal buildings and fleet; and assisting the community-at-large with climate action. In this dynamic role, you’ll have the satisfaction of taking projects from start to finish, and seeing the impact of your work at the local level.
You will also be part of a team and community that is committed to climate action. The Town of Natick is a Massachusetts Department of Energy “Climate Leader Community” and has made strides to reduce its fossil fuel use through a variety of municipal projects, including solar systems, building energy efficiency, street light upgrades and the decarbonization of heating/cooling systems. As Natick’s Sustainability Coordinator, you will work with the Sustainability Director, Net Zero Committee, municipal staff in other departments, and community members to continue this work.
Key projects that this position will be responsible for leading in 2026 include:
Updating Natick’s 2021 Net Zero Action Plan to reflect progress and prioritize future action,
Completing annual reports to meet Green Communities and Large Building Energy requirements,
Drafting zoning to reduce barriers to installing EV charging stations at commercial properties,
And more!
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Energy or Environmental Policy or other related field, plus a minimum of two years of professional experience in sustainability planning, energy efficiency and/or renewable energy market; or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
This position is Grade 3 of the Town’s pay plan with a hiring range of $65,000 to $75,000; actual salary is dependent upon qualifications.
