BrownWinick is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized
Intellectual Property (IP) Paralegal This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team focused on delivering exceptional client service in trademark, copyright, and patent matters.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare, review, and file patent, trademarks, copyright applications, amendments, renewals, and other related documents with the USPTO and foreign intellectual property offices.
Draft and file oath and declarations and recordation documents such as assignments, name changes, mergers, licenses, and security interests.
Manage and maintain IP docketing systems, including docketing deadlines for filings, office action responses, renewals, maintenance fees, and annuities.
Oversee international filings and prosecution, including PCT, Madrid Protocol, and coordination with foreign associates.
Review and promptly report all USPTO and foreign intellectual property office notifications, correspondence, and official actions to clients.
Conduct trademark searches and prepare search reports as needed.
Communicate directly with clients, inventors, examiners, and foreign associates regarding IP prosecution and portfolio matters.
Assist with IP enforcement, oppositions, cancellations, and litigation support.
Maintain proficiency with IP management software and electronic filing systems.
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 2 years of IP paralegal experience (law firm or corporate setting).
Strong knowledge of USPTO procedures and IP docketing systems.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with IP management software preferred.
