What to Expect
As a Tesla Maintenance Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational availability of a wide array of manufacturing equipment. You will apply your technical skills to install, maintain and repair mechanical and electrical systems, factory automation and robotics. You will work with the highest caliber process and equipment engineering teams to improve equipment reliability and minimize or eliminate downtime.
Tesla's Equipment Maintenance is also the first‑responding problem solvers who manage machine breakdown recoveries to keep production running. This is a physically demanding job working in tight spaces, requiring walking and standing all day, as well as, bending, squatting, kneeling, climbing ladders and lying on the ground intermittently throughout the day. In addition, the technician may wear a fall protection harness while working from heights or from a suspended position. Maintenance Technicians will lift up to 50 lbs. and utilize other hand tools and power tools as needed.
What You'll Do
Perform Preventative Maintenance (PM) on all industrial production and mechatronics equipment
Perform repairs on production-down equipment
Operate and repair every cell on a line
Perform Corrective Maintenance repairs on the equipment
Experience with electrical systems ranging from 24 VDC to 480 VAC 3 phase, mechanical systems, conveyor systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, PLC, networks and robotics
Order parts, supplies, and equipment from catalogues and suppliers, or obtain them from storerooms
Ability to analyze problems and error conditions, identify root causes, and implement viable long‑term solutions
What You'll Bring
Five plus years of experience working in a maintenance capacity on production manufacturing equipment
Ability to read and interpret detailed mechanical assembly drawings and accurately measure and inspect tolerances
Able to use a schematic diagram to troubleshoot electrical systems and have familiarity with PLC control systems and relay control logic
Knowledge of multiple robotic systems for programming and control system repairs such as Kuka, Fanuc, Kawasaki, Motoman or ABB
Experience with pneumatic systems, hydraulic systems and lubrication systems
Proficient with pneumatics solenoid valves, actuator and control operations
Must have command of the English language, both written and verbal
Physical Demands
Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods of time, up to 12 hours a day
Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours/day, including over varied and uneven terrain
Frequently and repetitively, lift, push and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs
Frequently and repetitively, bend, lift and reach to install parts
Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist and crawl for extended periods of time, including up to 12 hours/day
Climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding or other high structures
Ability to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing
Wearing Personal Protective Equipment, including but not limited to: safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing Protection, and adhering to prescribed safety rules and guidelines

Expected Compensation $32.00 - $54.76/hour + cash and stock awards + benefits
