Behind every smooth checkout, fully stocked shelf, and happy Garden guest is an inventory pro who keeps the numbers honest. The Atlanta Botanical Garden is seeking an Inventory Coordinator who will support accurate inventory control and reporting for the Atlanta Botanical Garden gift shop and off‑site warehouse. This role focuses on inventory accuracy, documentation audits, data analysis, and loss prevention support. The Inventory Coordinator works in close coordination with Gift Shop and Warehouse Assistant Managers, who are responsible for executing inventory transfers and replenishment. This position helps ensure product availability, operational efficiency, and a positive guest experience.
Key Responsibilities Inventory Accuracy and Controls
Maintain accurate inventory records through regular cycle counts and audits
Research and correct negative on‑hand inventory on a weekly basis
Monitor inventory levels and identify discrepancies or risks
Utilize point‑of‑sale and inventory systems to maintain accurate stock data
Documentation and Compliance
Audit transfer documentation for accuracy and procedural compliance
Audit receiving documentation to confirm proper receiving practices
Maintain organized inventory records in accordance with Garden standards
Inventory Reporting and Analysis
Track inventory data and identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
Prepare weekly and monthly inventory reports for management review
Communicate recurring issues or process gaps to leadership with recommended solutions
Collaboration and Operational Support
Partner with Gift Shop and Warehouse Assistant Managers to support inventory planning and readiness
Communicate inventory concerns that may impact sales floor availability or guest experience
Support inventory preparation for seasonal exhibitions, special events, and peak attendance periods
Loss Prevention Support
Support inventory security best practices to reduce shrink
Conduct focused audits of high‑risk or high‑value items
Report inventory risks or discrepancies to management promptly
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree or higher in business, supply chain management, or a related field preferred
Minimum of two years of inventory management experience, preferably in a retail or hospitality environment
Experience using inventory management and point‑of‑sale systems required
Familiarity with Google Workspace and Monday.com preferred
Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and perform standing, walking, and warehouse‑based tasks for extended periods
Skills And Competencies

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Work Schedule
Part‑time position averaging 20 to 25 hours per week. Schedules may include weekdays, weekends, or evenings based on business needs, seasonal transitions, and special events
