Center Operations Manager 1 Octapharma Plasma, Inc. invites applications for the Center Operations Manager 1 position.

Job Summary An experienced operations leader will oversee regulatory compliance, inspections, quality improvement, and team management at a plasma donation center.

Responsibilities

Maintain a thorough understanding of and ensure total operation is compliant with state and federal regulations (e.g., FDA approved SOPs, OSHA, CLIA, GMP).

Assist in hosting internal and external inspections conducted by regulatory agencies and customers.

Collaborate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and product quality.

Identify opportunities for process optimization and contribute to the development of best practices.

Collaborate with relevant departments to implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).

Promote Safety, Health, and Environment Policies & Procedures; ensure safety training and practices are implemented and followed.

Oversee preventive maintenance of donor center equipment to ensure it is well-maintained and functional.

Ensure the facility is always well‑maintained, clean, and neat.

Maintain the integrity of product and sample storage equipment, including mitigation of equipment failure.

Prepare product shipments and ensure compliance with SOPs.

Assist with achieving targeted production in quantity and quality.

Assist with optimizing operational cost to meet and exceed targeted objectives, including inventory management.

Provide feedback for employee performance evaluations, improvement plans, development plans, and corrective actions.

Collaborate on employment decisions, including hiring, promotions, demotions, and terminations.

Nurture a robust and positive culture within the donor center, exemplifying core values.

Ensure adherence to all HR policies and procedures (workers’ compensation, talent acquisition, compensation, benefits, leave of absence, ADA/accommodations, employee relations).

Assist in employee relations investigations.

Act as Designated Trainer, conducting on‑the‑job and certification training and adapting methods to learner needs.

Conduct thorough area walkthroughs, demonstrating a consistent presence in production zones.

Facilitate optimal productivity in production areas by providing necessary assistance.

Cultivate a positive and respectful rapport with donors, fostering retention and referrals.

Inform immediate supervisor of any irregularities within the center.

Mitigate and report unsafe situations and conditions.

Assist with schedule and payroll records to optimize employee hour allocation.

Assist with coordination of staff and leadership meetings to enhance efficiency.

Drive operational performance to KPIs while proactively addressing deficiencies.

Collaborate and support marketing and advertising initiatives with corporate departments.

Qualifications

Trained in all production areas.

High School Diploma, or GED with 12 months applicable experience.

Up to 1 year of operations and/or process management/supervisory experience preferred.

Up to 1 year of people management experience, including hiring, training, etc.

Ability to function effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent interruptions.

Experience working in a highly regulated industry preferred.

Effective communication and organizational skills required.

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills required.

Experience with office software preferred.

Ability to work daytime and evening hours, weekends, holidays, extended shifts, and occasional after‑.

Physical Requirements

Ability to sit or stand for extended periods (up to 4 hours).

Ability to tug, lift, and pull up to 35 pounds.

Ability to bend, stoop, or kneel.

Ability to enter an environment with a temperature of -40°C for short periods.

Occupational exposure to blood‑borne pathogens.

Ability to view a video display terminal less than 18 inches away for extended periods.

Ability to perform precise tasks requiring repetitive small motor skills.

Ability to type and use basic computer skills.

Ability to use assistive devices if needed for mobility or communication.
