Position Overview Store Operations Specialist

Reports To: Assistant Store Leader

Classification: Full-Time/Non-Exempt/Hourly

The Store Operations Specialist performs duties in compliance with federal, state, and local firearm sales regulations and ensures adherence to Range USA’s policies and procedures. Responsibilities include general clerical duties, inventory management, booking and planning group parties, private lessons, events, and providing the best experience for every customer.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Manage all visual standards in the store, including merchandise presentation, signage, lighting, and general maintenance.

Receive all incoming inventory accurately and in a timely manner, following ATF standards and company policies.

Create trade‑in firearm item information within SAP.

Maintain service firearms program, sourcing parts, tracking, and customer communication.

Ensure rental firearm cleaning program is executed properly.

Oversee all “store use” items for proper inventory management.

Facilitate all special and e‑commerce orders.

Facilitate all in/out firearm transfers.

Handle price changes, register troubleshooting, tag printing, and price testing for all sales and events.

Partner with IT to troubleshoot SAP/IVEND problems.

Collaborate with Store Leader on inventory ordering and tracking of inventory “outs”.

Ensure quantity, products, and pricing are correct.

Work with the product team to resolve discrepancies, return items, and obtain credit memos.

Maintain a neat, clean, and organized receiving area.

Order necessary supplies such as targets, safety equipment, office supplies, and ATF forms.

Assist in producing and setting up event marketing materials.

Investigate and remedy inventory outs in partnership with Assistant Store Leader.

Facilitate special events, group outings, and private lessons.

Manage compliance programs: third and fourth checks of 4473 forms, form filing, corrections, and customer contacts.

Conduct weekly serial audits, monthly ammunition cycle counts, and other required cycle counts.

Analyze negative gross margin and negative quantity on hand reports, and verify Midwest receipts.

Conduct case audits to ensure proper representation of all in‑stock firearms.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 2 years inventory or retail experience in a specialty environment.

Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and inventory/POS systems.

Effective verbal and written communication skills; strong relationship‑building ability.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Extended periods of standing.

Ability to lift or push up to 50 lb regularly.

Ability to work at heights up to 10 ft.
